Seton Institute is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. All donations to Seton Institute are 100% tax-deductible.

Efficiency of Your Donation

All of Seton Institute’s administrative and fundraising costs are covered by our sponsor Ascension Health. This means 100% of your donation directly supports the Sisters’ healthcare programs and services.

It’s as simple as that.

Nothing – not 10%, not 5%, not 1% – is subtracted from your gift. Could a donation be any more efficient?

Each year, Seton Institute receives an increasing number of requests for support from the international community of Catholic Sisters. As the Sisters’ collective voice for change grows louder, so too does our urgency to respond.

Grantmaking:

Seton Institute has worked non-stop in an effort to meet the Sisters’ growing demand for life-saving resources. Since 2000, we have more than doubled the total value of our annual grantmaking.

Medical Aid Shipments:

As with grantmaking, Seton Institute’s medical aid shipment program has grown steadily. With partner organizations, Seton Institute shipped 31 containers overseas worth $6 million in 2007, both record numbers. Since 2000, Seton Institute has shipped or partnered in shipping 173 ocean containers worth over $27 million to Catholic hospitals and clinics in Africa, Asia and Latin America (see chart).

Emergency Relief:

The Indian Ocean tsunami in 2004 represented Seton Institute’s largest single fundraising appeal. Sisters in India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Thailand received $618,000 in financial assistance from Seton Institute.
