At Seton Institute, we feel strongly that collaborative partnerships are critical to the success of our mission. Saving lives in the least developed nations of the world is a weighty task for any one organization to shoulder alone. But working together with talented partners that share our goals and complement our strengths, we believe anything is possible.
Seton Institute engages partners with a wide range of healthcare expertise. We collaborate with domestic hospital systems that contribute in-kind materials desperately lacking internationally. We partner with organizations that provide us with access to life-saving medicines. And we join forces with groups that offer much-needed support services on medical technology. These collaborative relationships increase our effectiveness and our efficiency, allowing us to stretch the impact of your donation to the maximum.
Seton Institute is grateful for its partnerships with the following institutions:
Catholic Consortium for International Health Services
Seton Institute is a founding member of Catholic Consortium for International Health Services (CCIHS), a collective of Catholic health systems and organizations that meets monthly to exchange insights concerning international medical missions and to explore partnership opportunities. All CCIHS members share a common goal – to respond more effectively to the healthcare needs of developing countries.
Catholic Healthcare West
With hospitals in California, Arizona and Nevada, Catholic Healthcare West (CHW) is the eighth largest hospital system in the nation. Committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality, affordable healthcare services with special attention to the poor and underserved, CHW hospitals make in-kind donations of medical equipment and supplies to Seton Institute.
Catholic Medical Mission Board
Focused exclusively on global healthcare, Catholic Medical Mission Board (CMMB) is a Catholic charity that works collaboratively to make healthcare available to all. For over 10 years, Seton Institute and CMMB have worked together to ship donated medicines and supplies to Sisters’ hospitals and clinics in developing countries.
Daughters of Charity Province of the West
Founded by French priest St. Vincent de Paul and widow Louise de Marillac in 1633, the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul are a worldwide community of more than 21,000 Sisters working in 94 countries. Called by God, the Daughters of Charity are committed to serving “the poorest of the poor” in a spirit of humility, simplicity and charity. Their ministry touches those in need through education health care, social, and pastoral services.
Instrumental in the founding and growth of Seton Institute, The Province of the West has 140 Sisters serving in 28 cities in Alaska, California, Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico. The Sisters are also involved with collaborative missions in Haiti, Russia, Kenya and the Cook Islands.
Medicines for Humanity
Dedicated to saving children’s lives in impoverished communities worldwide, Medicines for Humanity (MFH) provides low-cost medicines to U.S. nonprofits working in developing countries. For the past five years, Seton Institute and MHF have co-sponsored projects to deliver medical aid to Daughters of Charity health programs in the Dominican Republic and Haiti.
TriMedx Foundation
Founded in 2004, the TriMedx Foundation provides clinical engineering expertise to medical missions around the world. An outgrowth of TriMedx (a healthcare equipment services company and wholly owned subsidiary of Ascension Health), the foundation provides bio-medical technology support, consultation and services to Seton Institute and the Sisters’ health projects in the developing world.
